St Mary’s News

Our Harvest Festival Thanksgiving Service was held on 24th September and the Church looked beautiful. Thank you to all those who worked so hard creating such pretty autumnal arrangements, and also to those who provided produce and flowers.

The Harvest Supper was held the evening before in the Village Hall, and the evening was a great success and raised over £400 for the Church. Many people worked incredibly hard for the evening and we would like to thank all who made it such a success.

The Remembrance Service at St Mary’s will be held on Sunday 12th November at 10.45 am and Pippa Regan will be going round the village selling poppies over the next couple of weeks.

The St Mary’s Carols by Candlelight Service will be held on Saturday 16th December at 6.00pm and we will be Carol Singing around the village on Thursday 21st December, meeting at 6.00pm at Gorse Cottage.

Local historian Ann Preston has continued her work on men who died in the Great War, and a copy can be found in the Church for anyone wishing to have a look.
