Nobody likes giving … or do they?

We have a wonderful God who gives generously to his people – all that we have is from him: the earth, its resources and our very lives. Ultimately, God’s generosity is seen in his gift of his Son – ‘for God so loved the world’ we read in John 3v16 ‘that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.’ God is a giving God! The response that God calls us for is to give our lives to him – that is what being a follower of Jesus is about – and to live for him in all we do. Part of that is to give back to him in thanks for all he has done – to give of our time, or our service, and of our money.

Money given to All Saints’ supports a number of things including:

  • Our Ministry – to support the costs of staff via contributions to the Oxford Diocese

  • Mission – we support a number of missions locally and around the world

  • Our Building – with the costs of upkeep and repair

Regular Giving

We encourage everyone who gives regularly to do so by Direct Debit through the Parish Giving Scheme. At most services at All Saints’ and St Mary’s the offertory plate will be available near the door, so we can make any cash/envelope offering as we arrive in church. There will also be a plate left near the door as we leave if you missed it on the way in! If you give by Direct Debit or Standing Order and would like to have tokens to place in the offering each week as a symbol of your offering to God, these can be provided, please speak to Dave Wilson (at All Saints’) or a sidesperson (at St Mary’s).

Wills and legacies

Once you have made provision for your loved ones, you have the opportunity to make a lasting gift to God, by leaving a legacy to His church. A gift in your Will to All Saints' is one of the most valuable and lasting ways you can continue to support its mission and ministry within your community. A gift can be an expression of your gratitude and thanksgiving towards God, can help keep your local church alive and help transform its future.
